GEL's quality program is one of the mostly highly audited programs of its kind in our industry. In fact, we were the first lab audited under the DOECAP program. We have consistently demonstrated the ability to successfully perform a wide variety of commercial and government projects. We attribute those successes to our Quality Assurance Program, a highly specialized program that addresses quality results in every area of our company, not just the laboratory.

Our quality assurance program is designed to comply with the guidelines and specifications of the following:
  • NELAC
  • ASME/NQA-1
  • ISO/IEC Guide 17025
  • QAPPs, U.S. EPA QA/R5
  • MARLAP
  • CLIA
  • QA Guide 5.15
  • Department of Energy Order 414.1a
  • Current U.S. EPA CLP statements of work for inorganic and organic analyses
  • ANSI N42.23 Quality Assurance for Radiobioassay Laboratories
  • Appendix B to Part 50 –QA for Nuclear Power Plants and Fuel Reprocessing Plants
  • 10 CFR Part 21
  • 10 CFR Part 61
  • NRC Guides 4.8 and 4.15

GEL participates in U.S. EPA and Department of Energy nationwide audit programs and inter-comparison studies. Since January 2004, GEL has been visited by forty-six audit teams (135 auditors), which covered our full range of analytical, quality, and support system capabilities. The audit teams focused on our contract/program requirements, including DOECAP, Nuclear Power Industry (NUPIC), the Department of Energy Laboratory Accreditation Program for Radiobioassay analyses (DOELAP), the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP), state, and private commercial quality systems. Our Quality Assurance Program has been approved by numerous state and federal agencies.
