GEL Solutions Announces Two New Principals!

GEL Solutions, LLC is pleased to announce that two of its professionals have become Principals of the firm. The new Principals, William Dovell and Brandon Phillips, have played key management roles in the firm’s overall growth and success and join current Principals Scott Carney, Jorgen Bergstrom, and Scott Smith.

William S. Dovell, Director of South Carolina Operations
Will has over 15 years of experience and serves as the Director of South Carolina Operations. He is responsible for conducting and managing subsurface utility engineering (SUE) and geophysical investigations, scheduling projects, manpower allocation, developing CAD deliverables, and training field technicians. Will also represents the firm by conducting presentations at local, state, and national events for organizations involved in engineering and utility damage prevention.

Prior to joining The GEL Group, Inc. in 2003, Will was a manager in the food and beverage industry in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. He obtained a B.S. in Geography from Appalachian State University and is a Staking University Certified Utility Locator. Will and his wife, Helen, live in Charleston, SC and have two boys, Michael and John.

Brandon M. Phillips, Director of North Carolina Operations
Brandon has 16 years of experience and serves as the Director of North Carolina Operations for GEL Engineering of NC, Inc., a full-service geophysical, subsurface utility engineering (SUE), and survey consulting firm. He is responsible for managing complex SUE, geophysical, and other special projects. He is also responsible for managing NC’s operations and business development. He has worked with and managed numerous projects for an array of clients including the Department of Defense, State Departments of Transportation, design engineering firms, municipal and state agencies, industries, airports, petroleum, power utilities (nuclear and fossil), environmental and geotechnical firms, and railroads.

Prior to joining The GEL Group, Inc. in 2010, Brandon worked in the SUE industry for 8 years as a technician and Project Manager traveling the east coast on assignments, primarily in Northern Virginia and the surrounding Washington DC area. He and his wife, Gena, live in Princeton, NC and have three children, twins Addyson and Brenna and son Gavin.
