GEL Geophysics Announces Three New Principals!

GEL Geophysics, LLC is pleased to announce that three of its professionals have become Principals of the firm. The new Principals, Scott Carney, Jorgen Bergstrom, and Scott Smith, have played key management roles in the firm’s overall growth and success. Congratulations, gentlemen.

GEL Geophysics, LLC is pleased to announce that three of its professionals have become Principals of the firm. The new Principals, Scott Carney, Jorgen Bergstrom, and Scott Smith, have played key management roles in the firm’s overall growth and success.

Scott D. Carney, P.E., Director
Scott has over 25 years of engineering and consulting experience and has served as Director since GEL Geophysics’ formation in 2001. With his extensive technical background, Scott also serves as a Project Manager and Engineer of Record for subsurface utility engineering (SUE) investigations. Prior to being promoted to Director of GEL Geophysics, Scott managed various engineering and environmental groups within The GEL Group, Inc. for 9 years.

E. Jorgen Bergstrom, P.Gp., Director of Georgia Operations
Jorgen has over 20 years of project management and consulting experience in the geophysical and non-destructive evaluation fields. Jorgen joined GEL Geophysics in Charleston, South Carolina in 2002 as a Senior Geophysicist. With his extensive experience with numerous geophysical methods and instrumentation, he has performed and managed complex geophysical projects for private, industrial, and governmental entities throughout the U.S and Europe. In 2007, Jorgen was promoted to Director of Georgia Operations and moved to Marietta, Georgia to start our satellite office there.

Scott T. Smith, Senior Project Manager
Scott has been with GEL since 1985, serving in many capacities. He has over 30 years of project management and consulting experience in the SUE, geophysical, and environmental fields. Having worked with GEL Geophysics since its formation in 2001, Scott serves as the firm’s contract officer and is responsible for managing complex SUE and geophysical projects. He is also responsible for training project management staff, developing business opportunities, and for representing the firm through SUE training programs and presentations at local, state, and national events for organizations involved in engineering and utility damage prevention.

With offices in Charleston, South Carolina, Raleigh and Charlotte, North Carolina, and Marietta, Georgia, GEL Geophysics LLC provides comprehensive SUE, surveying, and geophysical services to architectural/engineering firms, local, state, and federal agencies including DOTs, as well as contractors, industrial, and commercial clients.
