Development of explosives analysis using LC/MS/MS
A client had a project where Tetryl was consistently observed when their samples were analyzed using Method 8330, the EPA standard method for the determination of explosives. However, it was known that Tetryl was never used at the site. GEL determined that the prescribed method was inadequate and developed a fully validated LC/MS/MS method with greater specificity thereby eliminating any false positive results. With improved analytical results, the client was able to reduce the scope of the clean up, thereby saving a significant amount of time and money.
