Sandra Chzasz Receives CHMM® Designation

GEL Engineering, LLC is pleased to announce that Sandra Chzasz, a Project Manager in the firm’s Permitting and Compliance Group, recently received certification as a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM®) from the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management  (IHMM).

A CHMM is certified to manage and advise on proper handling and management of hazardous materials ensuring safety and compliance.

Ms. Chzasz has over 16 years of experience working with a variety of industries and manufacturing facilities.  She specializes in waste characterizations, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) permitting, and negotiations with state agencies.  Ms. Chzasz also prepares stormwater permits and plans, risk management plans, emissions inventories, air permits, and other environmental compliance projects.  As a former Hazardous Waste Commercial Facilities Inspector for the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, she gained familiarity with both state and federal regulations for hazardous waste as well as commercial facility inspections.  In addition, Ms. Chzasz has completed certified training in 40 and 49 CFR and is certified in Method 9 testing.
