In today’s engineering and design world, improved visualization has become an important part of a project’s success. Just as Building Information Modeling (BIM) is transforming the above-ground landscape, GEL Solutions is providing 3D deliverables for improved visualization of subsurface utilities and features.
Compiling subsurface data with site topographic information allows us to prepare spatially relevant 3Dmodels of utilities and other structures. The 3D model enhances clash/conflict analysis of proposed new utility alignments reducing the number of test holes resulting in significant project cost savings.
The video below illustrates how GEL Solutions, in conjunction with David Evans and Associates, provided a total 3D SUE solution for above and below ground infrastructure on a major rail project in California.
