The GEL Group, Inc. was recently recognized at the Charleston County Industry Appreciation Luncheon.  The annual event also celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Charleston County Economic Development Department.

The event recognized Charleston County industries and their recent accomplishments.  Among The GEL Group’s accomplishments featured were:

• The GEL Group completed the Metro Charleston Export Plan training
• GEL Engineering was recognized as a 2014 Engineering News-Record (ENR) Southeast Top Design Firm
• GEL Laboratories opened an additional service facility, increasing the company’s presence in South Carolina
• GEL Laboratories teamed with two Tokyo based companies to collaborate in developing radioactive measuring techniques and will assist in the ultimate cleanup efforts of Fukushima
• GEL Laboratories became a member of the Canadian Nuclear Association
• GEL Engineering completed the first successful PSD Construction Permit application under the more stringent EPA/SCDHEC regulations
• GEL Engineering played an integral part of the preservation of nearly 4,000 acres of wetlands and forestland within the Francis Marion Forest
• GEL Engineering surpassed seven consecutive years without an OSHA recordable injury
