More than 200 GEL team members dedicate themselves to offering our clients an unwavering commitment to solving their problems and a dedication to meeting their needs. Our "people first" philosophy starts with our management team.

Carey J. Bocklet
Chief Operating Officer, GEL Laboratories, LLC
Carey has been with GEL since 1989. She began her career at GEL as an engineer with the environmental consulting division of GEL Laboratories, LLC (now GEL Engineering, LLC) and was the Director of this group for three years before transferring to the laboratory operations in 1998.
Prior to her career with GEL, Carey worked for 5 years as a process engineer with a major electronics manufacturing firm. Carey earned a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Clemson University in 1984 and a Master of Business Administration degree from Clemson University in 1988. Carey is married to Dr. R. Cary Bocklet, and they have two sons, Michael and Christopher, that are married and following in their Dad’s footsteps in orthodontics.

James B. Westmoreland
Radiochemistry Director
James has been with GEL since 1991. He began his career at GEL Laboratories when radiochemistry services were an emerging need. Prior to his career with GEL, James worked for five years as a radiochemistry supervisor for a nuclear waste management laboratory.
James earned a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Bob Jones University in 1987.

Robert L. Pullano
Quality Systems Director
Bob has been with GEL since 1988. He began his career at GEL Laboratories as an organic instrument operator and has had responsibilities within the organization as a Quality Assurance Officer, Team Leader of National Accounts, and Quality Assurance Manager.
Bob has served on numerous industry committees on the improvements of state and national environmental laboratory quality standards and accreditation. Prior to his career with GEL, Bob worked for three years as an analyst with an environmental consulting firm in Massachusetts.
Bob earned a B.S. degree in Marine Science and Biology in 1984 from Southampton College of Long Island University.

Joanne M. Harley
Manager of Client Support Services
Joanne has been with GEL since 2002. She began her career at GEL in the sample receiving department. She also held responsibilities within the organization in the Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) group and was a Project Manager for 9 years.
Joanne earned a B.S. degree in Geology from the College of Charleston in 2000. In 2018, she completed the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Program.
